Jeff Driskel’s injured hamstring somehow went from bad to worse without playing a snap in last week’s Thanksgiving loss to the Chicago Bears.

Healthy enough to be David Blough’s backup at quarterback last Thursday, the Detroit Lions placed Driskel on injured reserve two days later when they signed Kyle Sloter off the Arizona Cardinals’ practice squad.

“Obviously, last week on a short week, we thought he could be ready in an emergency role for us during the game,” Lions coach Matt Patricia explained Monday.
