Detroit Lions heartbroken by death of Marvin Jones' son: 'Definitely playing inspired'

Darius Slay greeted Marvin Jones with a fist bump when he ran out of the Ford Field tunnel Sunday, he hugged Jones' wife, Jazymn, and told Jones he loved him.

A day after Jones announced that his infant son, Marlo, died unexpectedly, Slay and the Lions turned in a heartfelt performance in Jones' honor that ultimately ended in defeat, 23-20, to the Green Bay Packers.

"That’s like my brother, man," Slay said. "We’ve been together here for a long time. We’ve been competing against each other, made each other a lot better than what we came in as and for that to happen, that tragedy to happen, I put all this weight on my shoulders, I pray for him, and I just want to go out there and compete on a high level for him.
