Detroit Lions have more competition in free agency as others try Patriot Way

When the free-agent negotiating period opens Monday, Trey Flowers will be one of the biggest names on the market.

Flowers has two Super Bowl rings in his four NFL seasons and is coming off a year in which he set a career-high with 7.5 sacks.

The New England Patriots surely want Flowers back as a movable chess piece on their defensive line, but they might find the bidding too pricey for their liking when the 25-year-old pass rusher can officially begin fielding offers from other teams.
