The Detroit Lions officially declined the fifth-year option on Jarrad Davis rookie contract Monday, but head coach Matt Patricia said he still envisions Davis as a long-term part of his defense.
"Yeah, I mean, I think J.D. is a cornerstone of what we’re trying to do and he’s in those big-picture plans of ... where we’re trying to go," Patricia said Tuesday in a videoconference with reporters.
