We have our first big surprise on Detroit Lions cut day. Per Ian Rapoport, the Lions are parting ways with former Seahawks defensive back DeShawn Shead.
Shead was brought in this offseason with a lot of hype surrounding him. Though he was just returning from a torn ACL at the end of the 2017 season, Shead played well with the Seahawks prior to the injury.
In Detroit, he offered a lot of versatility, being able to play as an outside corner, in the nickel or even as a safety. However, it never really turned out that way in his brief time in Detroit.
