The Detroit Lions' new safety, acquired in a trade Wednesday with the New England Patriots, is dealing with the challenges of the coronavirus outbreak just like everyone else.

But the trade put him in a strange spot because he couldn’t follow the normal protocol of flying to Detroit to meet his new team and take his physical.

Instead, Harmon spoke with coach Matt Patricia and general manager Bob Quinn by phone, as well as head athletic trainer Dave Granito, whom Harmon knew during their time together in New England.
