With a vacancy at one starting guard spot and health concerns at the other, the Detroit Lions are bringing back one of their top backups at the position from last season.

The Lions agreed to a one-year deal with Oday Aboushi on Tuesday.

Aboushi appeared in seven games and made two starts at left guard last season as the Lions' fifth interior lineman.

He could contend for a bigger role this fall after the Lions let starting right guard Graham Glasgow go in free agency and with starting left guard Joe Dahl coming off a season-ending back injury.
