The Detroit Lions announced on Tuesday they have hired former Central Michigan head coach John Bonamego as special teams coordinator.
This will be Bonamego's second stint with the Lions in this position – he led the special teams from 2013-14 before he was hired as the head coach at CMU, his alma mater.
Bonamego made bowl appearances in his first three seasons at Central, but went 1-11 in 2018 and was fired.
