When the Detroit Lions agreed to a four-year deal with free agent Justin Coleman earlier this week, it was hailed as a contract that made Coleman the highest-paid slot cornerback in the NFL.

In reality, the Lions are paying Coleman more like a true No. 2 cover man.

Coleman received a $10.145 million signing bonus as part of his contract and $16 million in true guarantees, and the Lions once again structured the deal to carry a low first-year cap charge this fall.
