Detroit Lions add offensive line help, sign Will Holden off practice squad

The Detroit Lions filled one of their two vacant roster spots Thursday, signing offensive tackle Will Holden off the practice squad.

Holden, who spent the preseason with the Indianapolis Colts, signed with the Lions practice squad last week.

The Lions have been shorthanded at tackle since losing Taylor Decker to a finger injury in practice Sept. 8. Decker underwent surgery last week and is expected to miss the next three games.

Holden, a fifth-round pick by the Arizona Cardinals in 2017, spent part of the 2018 season with the New Orleans Saints, when Lions coach Dan Campbell was the team's assistant head coach.
