The Detroit Lions have added another defensive assistant to their coaching staff, and naturally he has Syracuse ties.
The Lions hired former New England Patriots defensive back Steve Gregory on Wednesday.
Gregory had three interceptions in 23 starts with the Patriots in 2012-13, and returned Mark Sanchez's infamous butt fumble for a touchdown. He also played for the San Diego Chargers and played wide receiver and defensive back in college at Syracuse.
