The Detroit Lions activated linebacker Steve Longa off the physically unable to perform list Monday, clearing the way for him to return to practice for the first time since he tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee last preseason.

Longa missed all of the 2018 season because of his injury and spent the spring and early part of training camp rehabbing.

The Lions have six linebackers who appear to be locks for the Week 1 roster — Jarrad Davis, Devon Kennard, Christian Jones, Jahlani Tavai, Jalen Reeves-Maybin and Miles Killebrew — and have a decision to make on Longa's future in less than a week.
