To this point, the Detroit Lions didn’t quite go all-in in fixing their biggest weakness from 2019 as most expected. Yes, they signed a couple of free agents, drafted a couple of late-round rookies, but they also lost a few starters including Damon Harrison, A’Shawn Robinson, and Mike Daniels.
In 2019 the Lions were 30th in sacks, 29th in pressure percentage, and depended on their defensive line to generate almost all of it being 30th in blitz percentage as well. A confusing sentence to say the least.
Now we know head coach Matt Patricia doesn’t prioritize pass-rush, a philosophy I couldn’t disagree more with, but it’s the truth for our favorite team nonetheless.
