DeShawn Shead sits out of Wednesday’s practice

Detroit Lions cornerback DeShawn Shead did not participate in the team’s practice on Wednesday. He was spotted working with a trainer on an undisclosed injury. This comes following a variety of moves the Lions made in the secondary the past couple of days, including the additions of safety Marcus Cromartie and cornerback Sterling Moore. This is the first time that Shead has sat out of practice following Detroit’s preseason game against the New York Giants last Friday where he did not play a single snap.

The race for the Lions CB2 role has been heating up in recent week.
