ALLEN PARK -- It's been two years since DeShawn Shead suited up for a training camp practice and took part in the one-on-one drills with opposing wide receivers. He was itching for this.
But the early task was not for the faint of limbs: The new Lions defensive back would have to guard 6-foot-2-inch Marvin Jones and 6-4 Kenny Golladay as they took him deep with no pass rush and no contact allowed as Matthew Stafford tossed them rainbow passes.
It was some test for a repaired ACL.
The reality is that the road less traveled has never frightened Shead; if it had, he'd never have gotten back this far.
