Damon Harrison lands contract extension from Lions

Damon “Snacks” Harrison has cashed in.

The Lions defensive tackle has agreed to a contract extension, as first reported by ESPN on Wednesday, with $12 million of guaranteed money through next season. The one-year, $11 million extension keeps Harrison under contract through 2021.

A source with knowledge of the extension confirmed the deal with The Detroit News.

Harrison held out of organized team activities and mandatory mini-camp this offseason, sacrificing a $250,000 workout bonus by sitting out OTAs and incurring an $88,000 fine for missing minicamp. Harrison, who reported on time for training camp, was activated from the Non-Football Injury list last week, returning to practice.
