C.J. Anderson promises Detroit Lions he'll be in 'way better shape'

The Detroit Lions are signing running back C.J. Anderson.

The powerful running back confirmed the news Monday on his Twitter account and promised to be in better shape this season, after carrying extra pounds in 2018 that he said were "man pregnancy weight."

"I can promise this I will be in way and I mean way better shape than this," Anderson tweeted Monday in response to a 2018 highlight video of himself. He said he weighed 235 pounds last season, 10 pounds above his listed weight of 225.

He bounced from the Carolina Panthers to Oakland Raiders to Los Angeles Rams, becoming a late-season boon to the playoff-bound Rams.
