For many folks, Chris Berman is ESPN, goofy catchphrases and nicknames in all.

According to the New York Post, the network is interested in bringing the 63-year-old out of semi-retirement, beginning with the upcoming NFL season.

Berman used to be a fixture on ESPN's "Sunday NFL Countdown" and then would host "NFL Primetime" with Tom Jackson later that night, in what was the highlight show before every network had its own and the internet spawned a different age.

Since the end of the 2017 NFL season, Berman's role with ESPN has been limited to just a few appearances.
