Calvin Johnson is competing for a championship.
The now-retired Detroit Lions receiver is one of four "Dancing with the Stars" contestants who qualified for next week's finals competition along with IndyCar driver James Hinchcliffe, Olympic gymnast Laurie Hernandez and country singer Jana Kramer.
Johnson, though, didn't make it easy in his continued surprising run through the show.
He was one of two stars in jeopardy of being eliminated Monday night and looked genuinely surprised when it was not his name called to be going home. Johnson had an inconsistent night in Monday's semifinals -- more on that below -- but his prior performances and fan voting pushed the receiver through.
