The NBA is officially back, and though the Nuggets haven’t played yet, the team and the rest of the league have already been put on notice by Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs. In his 2025-26 debut, Wemby put up 40 points on 15-21 shooting to go along with 15 rebounds and 3 blocks in just 30 minutes as the Spurs went into Dallas and pounded the Mavericks, 125-92.
There’s a common belief that Nikola Jokic will eventually pass the torch as the greatest center in the league to Wembanyama, but based on this game, that passing may come a lot sooner than expected.
