Torrey Craig flexes Nuggets’ situational depth with key block to remain unbeaten

Torrey Craig entered overtime with 19.4 seconds left after a mostly forgettable performance.

Funny how one play can change everything.

The Nuggets’ third-year small forward missed all four of his shot attempts from the field in the team’s home debut Friday against the Suns, including three clanks from deep, with an overall minus-13 rating. Craig ranked third in bench minutes (22:59) as a mostly situational defender and he didn’t play in the extra period until his final curtain call.

But Craig later brushed off his heroics which sealed Denver’s wild win at the Pepsi Center — “I just did my job,” he said — with a blue-collar attitude apropos of a team with championship aspirations only two games into the regular season.
