“Small victories”: Nikola Jokic busts slump with season-high 30 points in loss

BOSTON – Instead of squaring up on defense after another wayward shot Friday night, Jamal Murray sought out Nikola Jokic and gave him a reassuring tap on the chest.

Before a meaningless fourth quarter 3-pointer in Friday’s 108-95 loss to the Celtics, Jokic hadn’t connected from outside since Nov. 20 – a span of seven games.

“I know they’ve got my back, but I’m really hard on myself,” said Jokic, who poured in a season-high 30 points on 13-of-21 shooting in the defeat. “Every open shot, I think I need to make it. Of course, they are supporting me.
