Philadelphia sports radio director starts petition to ban professional sports in Denver due to elevation

A week removed from the Philadelphia 76ers’ second-half collapse in a 100-97 loss to the Nuggets at the Pepsi Center in Denver, a Philadelphia sports radio director is taking action.

Spike Eskin, who suggested Denver teams shouldn’t be allowed to have home games because of the city’s elevation during a Twitter rant last Friday, has now started a petition on change.org to do just that.

Titled “Ban Professional Sports In Denver,” the petition states that Denver’s mile-high elevation “creates an unfair advantage for the home team.”

“As has been public knowledge for a long time, athletes who travel to Denver who do not have the proper amount of time for their bodies to adjust, have trouble breathing when performing.
