CHARLOTTE – Pelicans center Anthony Davis ambled to the far end of the court, his black hood pulled up ready to answer questions he had to know were coming.
Was his reported list of preferred trade destinations – Knicks, Bucks, Lakers and Clippers – accurate?
“It’s true,” Davis said.
Pressed about why the Celtics weren’t on his list, Davis responded: “They are on my list.”
He later doubled-down on that answer, adding lighter fluid to the latest NBA trade saga. With stars like All-Star captains LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo holding court about dozens of topics at the Bojangles’ Coliseum just a few miles outside of downtown Charlotte, Davis’ remarks became the biggest story.
