Nuggets two-way guard Tamar Bates will miss at least 12 weeks after undergoing surgery for a fractured left foot, the team announced Monday.

Bates, 22, has spent most of his time with the Grand Rapids Gold, Denver’s G League affiliate. The rookie out of Missouri is one of three Nuggets players on two-way contracts, allowing him to appear in NBA regular-season games in addition to G League competition.

Bates is averaging 19.5 points and 4.2 rebounds per game for the Gold. He’s shooting 55.6% from the field and 43.3% from the 3-point line.
