Nuggets’ second-half rally leads Denver to win over East-leading Toronto Raptors

Sue Bird almost sounded prophetic.

The latest addition to the Nuggets’ front office was in Denver on Sunday assessing a team that has proved its resiliency time and again.

On the strength of Jamal Murray’s clutch shooting and Monte Morris’ veteran-like poise, the Nuggets roared back against the Raptors and won 95-86 for their third consecutive victory and second over Toronto. A 23-2 run over the third and fourth quarter flipped the game and improved the Nuggets’ record to 20-9.

Bird, officially a basketball operations associate while still playing for the WNBA champion Seattle Storm, was asked what she liked about the Nuggets’ yin-and-yang point-guard duo.
