Before Nuggets fans clamor for significant change in the wake of the team’s four-game sweep to Phoenix, they should ask themselves this: Would they rather have lost to Portland in the first round, or was it better to reach the second round, even if Denver’s motley group got exposed by a superior team?
The reality is there were only eight teams still standing when the Nuggets got picked apart by Chris Paul’s devilish mid-range game. And of those eight, Denver was the only one left from last year’s conference finalists in Orlando.
By almost any measure, the Nuggets overachieved.
