It’s bigger than basketball between rising Hawks star Trae Young and Nuggets rookie Michael Porter Jr.
The two are “brothers,” according to Young, in a bond that was cemented playing basketball on the AAU circuit in 2015 and 2016. Porter asked Young to be a part of the Kansas City-based MOKAN Elite AAU squad, and the two gelled on and off the court.
Ever since, they have been in constant communication, supporting each other through social media posts or FaceTiming each other just to touch base.
“We talk all the time, at least two or three times a week,” said Young, who hung out with Porter on Monday night after the Hawks got into Denver.
