Nikola Jokic’s monster game not enough as Nuggets fall to Pistons

DETROIT – Even Nikola Jokic has his limits.

Despite a monster game from the Nuggets’ two-time All-Star center, Denver found itself in a taxing overtime affair that ultimately snapped their winning streak at two.

Exhausted from travel and ravaged by injuries, the Pistons took full advantage of a battered Nuggets squad and hung on 128-123 to drop Denver to 34-16. Detroit outscored the Nuggets 17-12 in the overtime session.

Jokic recorded his 10th triple-double of the season, finishing with 39 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists. His points, which had come almost effortlessly for most of the game, dried up in the final five minutes save for a last-ditch 3-pointer.
