Kenneth Faried is hosting the first-annual Slam Dunk Against Lupus (SDAL) event on Saturday, Sept. 23 at the University of Denver’s Magness Arena. The event runs from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. and is the creation of The Lupus Research Alliance. For those who don’t know, Faried’s mother suffers from Lupus and it is something he’s discussed in the past. His concerns over her health are one of the reasons he’s given for winding up at Morehead State instead of a bigger Division I school, and thus one of the reasons he was available to the Denver Nuggets later in the first round.
