Jordan Brand pays homage to Carmelo Anthony’s Baltimore roots with Old Bay-inspired Nike shoes

Baltimore has played a major role in Los Angeles Lakers forward Carmelo Anthony’s life. After moving from Brooklyn to West Baltimore at age 8, Anthony said the city helped shape the person he is today.

Jordan Brand decided to pay homage to Anthony’s Baltimore upbringing with the Air Jordan 1 Low “Baltimore Crab” PE. This low-cut sneaker was designed to represent the 10-time All-Star’s love for the city, crabs and his favorite seasoning, Old Bay, according to a news release from Nike.

The Orange overlay is meant to represent the color of a crab, while the brown tongue and toe box represent the Old Bay seasoning.
