For the first time in his career, Jamal Murray has actually gotten off to a hot start this season, and the national media is finally starting to take notice. On Monday, Jamal was named the Western Conference’s Player of the Week for Week 7 of the season, all games from December 1-7.

Murray helped the Nuggets to a 3-1 record on the week and averaged 29.8 points and 7.5 assists per game while shooting 62.1% on three-pointers. This, of course, included Murray’s 52-point explosion against the Pacers, in which he hit 10-11 threes.

He vowed to come into training camp in shape and ready to start the season, and that’s exactly what he did.
