NEW YORK — On the game’s decisive play, the Nuggets had the defensive matchup that had already helped them win 14 games this season.
But with a quick right-left crossover, Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie blew past Gary Harris and coasted into the lane for a layup that was far too easy given the circumstance. Instead of Paul Millsap being in to defend the rim, it was Jerami Grant who was serving as Denver’s last line of defense.
Dinwiddie’s final bucket put the Nets up 103-102 with 26 seconds to play Sunday night.
