The Denver Nuggets were able to pick up a big time victory on Thursday night in Portland behind the play of an unlikely hero, Austin Rivers. After being signed to a 10-day contract just over a month ago, the Nuggets signed Rivers for the remainder of the season and it paid off big time in Game 3.
Rivers scored 16 fourth quarter points and made four three-pointers in the quarter. Some of the threes Rivers made were extremely difficult, but he was so hot it looked as if he was shooting into a swimming pool. Rivers finished the game with 21 points on 7-of-14 shooting from the field, 5-of-10 from behind the three-point line.
