In the front of several rows of chairs set up at the Peak Pub House on the club level of the Pepsi Center for the pomp-and-circumstance of an introductory news conference Friday was the family of the man of the hour, Nuggets first-round draft pick Emmanuel Mudiay.
His mother, Therese Kabeya, was clutching a bouquet of flowers of various colors, and brothers Jean-Micheal and Stephane were right by her. They were all there, a familiar sight, and right where they had always been for the youngest of the Mudiays — front and center in his life.
"My mom is definitely the foundation of the family," Emmanuel said.
