Denver Sports Omelette: On cusp of making playoffs, oddsmaker gives Nuggets solid shot at the title

The last time the Nuggets played in the postseason, George Karl was still head coach and players such as Ty Lawson, Danilo Gallinari and Andre Iguodala were the faces of the team.

Fast forward six seasons and Denver is on the cusp of clinching its first playoff berth since the 2012-13 season. One win or a loss by Sacramento cements the Nuggets’ spot. And, according to one oddsmaker, Denver has the seventh-best odds to win the NBA championship.

As of Sunday, Bovada placed the Nuggets’ odds at 25-to-1, tied with the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Warriors are favored at 4/9, followed by the Bucks (9/1), Raptors (9/1), Rockets (10/1), 76ers (15/1) and Celtics (16/1).
