Denver Nuggets use huge fourth quarter to top San Antonio Spurs

Gary Harris got free for a slam. Then Wilson Chandler found space underneath for a layup. And then Chandler streaked out in transition for another finish to push the Nuggets’ advantage to double digits.

Those three inside conversions highlighted Denver’s massive final quarter to pull away from short-handed San Antonio 117-109 at the Pepsi Center on Tuesday night in the Nuggets’ final home game before the all-star break.

The Nuggets (31-26), who were led by Nikola Jokic‘s triple-double (23 points, 13 rebounds, 11 assists), have won eight of their last 11 games and moved into a tie for the sixth spot with Portland in the Western Conference playoff standings.
