That creates a clearer decision-making process, Denver’s president of basketball operations says, as his team enters an important offseason after missing the playoffs by one game in 2017-18. And that starts with Thursday’s NBA draft, where the Nuggets will aim to make best possible use of the 14th overall pick.
“We don’t want to put too much responsibility or expectations on a rookie, especially given our roster as it is,” Connelly said recently.
