Despite all the ridiculous rumors and fanfare around it, the much-ballyhooed trade between the Nuggets and Kings, exchanging Jonas Valanciunas and Dario Saric, was finally made official on Sunday afternoon.
However, this part of the equation never seemed to be in question, even with the ongoing drama around Valanciunas and his future. Upon reporting of the trade agreement, news came out that Jonas wanted to leave the NBA and sign with the Greek club, Panathinaikos of the EuroLeague.
But apparently, the Nuggets were never aware of this and agreed to the trade with the full expectation that Valanciunas would be honoring his contract and playing in Denver this season.
