Why Broncos’ rookie offensive lineman Netane Muti might be steal of the NFL draft — if he stays healthy

Fresno State offensive line coach Ryan Grubb gathered his players to watch film after drubbing FCS opponent Incarnate Word in their 2017 season opener when he first discovered Netane Muti’s intense pursuit of perfection.

Muti, selected No. 181 overall (sixth round) by the Broncos in April’s draft, was a redshirt freshman that season. He had a strong first game, but not flawless. Grubb pointed out several of the guard’s mental mistakes to his group of linemen.

Grubb later returned to his football office to find Muti — a 6-foot-3 Polynesian mauler born in the South Pacific — sitting inside with an emotional request and a promise.
