After waiting through two nights and four rounds, the former CU quarterback and record-setting Buffs passer was taken by the Cleveland Browns on Saturday with the 144th pick in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL draft.
The selection was much later than many predicted, as the 6-foot-2 Texas native had been mocked as a first round pick by countless NFL draft prognosticators. Instead, he will be bringing his “Legendary” business brand to Cleveland after spending two years in Boulder rewriting the CU record books and three days sweating out a precipitous draft fall.
