The Broncos solidified a key component of their offense and lost a trusted member of their defense Friday.
Tight end Jeff Heuerman re-signed on a two-year deal, the team announced, while unrestricted free agent outside linebacker Shaquil Barrett reached a one-year deal with the Buccaneers, per national media reports.
Heuerman, 26, returns to Denver after recording a career-high 31 catches last season prior to breaking ribs in Week 12 against Pittsburgh that sidelined him for the Broncos’ remaining games. The former third-round 2015 draft pick has 49 catches for 564 yards and two touchdowns over his previous four seasons in Denver.
