Denver Broncos owner Pat Bowlen died Thursday after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was 75. The Broncos announced that Bowlen passed away at his Denver area home.

Pat Bowlen purchased the Broncos in 1984 and has helped them to 18 playoff appearances and seven Super Bowls. Bowlen turned over control of the team to his family trust in July 2014 amid his battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Bowlen will be posthumously inducted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Aug. 3 in Canton, Ohio.
