It was a handful of plays in the Broncos’ first practice of training camp.

But a major takeaway Friday, aside from receiver Jerry Jeudy effortlessly running routes and making catches, was the presence of cornerback Bryce Callahan.

He was on the field, period.

Callahan’s 2019 season ended a week before the first preseason game, when the screw in his surgically-repaired foot broke. The Broncos and Callahan were patient in his recovery, including stem cell treatment, but he was placed on injured reserve last Nov. 16 and eventually had another operation.
