The NFL did the right thing for the game of football, even if it wasn’t the best thing for Denver.

The coronavirus, which laughs at all our best-laid plans, has moved the Broncos-New England game from Sunday to a late Monday afternoon matinee. With kickoff set for 3:05 p.m. in the Rocky Mountain region, think the league is telling us Denver quarterback Brett Rypien isn’t a prime-time player?

Football games. Political campaigns. Weddings. Funerals. The virus doesn’t care. Life’s not fair. This is 2020.

“It does make it tougher,” Broncos coach Vic Fangio told me Thursday night, discussing a schedule disruption that was none of his team’s doing.
