Drew Lock to start at QB in Broncos preseason opener against Vikings

Following this morning’s practice, Broncos coach Vic Fangio said Drew Lock will start the team’s preseason opener Saturday at Minnesota.

The Broncos and Vikings will practice Wednesday and Thursday in Eagan, Minn., ahead of the game.

Fangio said Teddy Bridgewater will then start the second preseason game, Aug. 21 in Seattle.

Against Minnesota, Fangio said there won’t be a set number of drives for Lock before giving way to Bridgewater.

“You have a hope, but what happens in these preseason games sometimes, if you go and have a couple of three-and-outs and the other team is driving it on you — you can’t go by quarters and series and stuff,” Fangio said.
