The Broncos have had issues at the right tackle position since the start of the preseason, but the extent of the problems were laid bare for the second consecutive game Sunday night. Quarterback Trevor Siemian took hit after hit in the first half against Kansas City.
Second-year pro Ty Sambrailo started in place of Donald Stephenson against the Chiefs, but Sambrailo struggled early and was replaced by Stephenson midway through the second quarter.
“I thought (Stephenson) came in and played well,” Broncos coach Gary Kubiak said. “Obviously, a challenge with both of those guys, to see who’s going to play the best.
