In 2017, the Broncos ranked third in the NFL in yards allowed, but just 22nd in scoring defense. Much of that can be attributed to a horrible offense, but the Broncos’ defense wasn’t forcing as many turnovers as it has in the past.
They ranked 26th in the NFL with just 17 forced turnovers and dropped from 52 sacks in the Super Bowl season of 2015 to just 33 in 2017.
That’s despite taking away the opponents’ run game, yielding a league-low 3.
