As of now, all 32 teams in the league have 90 players on their roster. Of course, this needs to be cut down to 53 before the season starts along with a 10-man practice squad.
But when teams finalize their rosters before the season starts, they aren’t really final. General managers will scan the waiver wire to see the list of players that other teams around the league have released.
