DeMarcus Ware points toward opener, potentially different role with Broncos

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- There are times when the Denver Broncos are the proverbial tough room, even for the most decorated players on their roster.

In 2015, in search of some salary-cap relief, the Broncos asked future Hall of Famer Peyton Manning to take a pay cut as they prepared for a season that eventually ended with him holding the Lombardi Trophy after the Broncos' win in Super Bowl 50.

This season, once again on the hunt for some additional cap flexibility, they asked another player with Canton credentials to take a pay cut when they adjusted DeMarcus Ware's contract.
